Lynn grew up here in Waycross and Tiahrt grew up on a farm in South Dakota..  A ride in Col Tiahrt's Gyrocopter unites these 2 combat veteran fighter pilots in the 21st century of modern sport plane aviation.  Col Tiahrt is always ready to give his fellow pilots a ride in his unique Gyrocopter.  Most pilots have never flown in a gyrocopter, that has no wings like a standard airplane.  The Gyrocopter uses a rotating blade to provide lift, with an engine in the rear pushing the craft forward to maintian flying speed.  It is one of aviations most unique craft, its not a Helicopter, and its not an airplane, but it uses the principles of both machines.  Col Tiahrt built his gycopter himself as an Experimental Homebuilt.
As usual, a fun time was had by all
